Forensic delay analysis in MS Project.

Methodologies covered
Time impact analysis is presented in depth, including a dedicated step-by-step demonstration of almost 25 minutes in MS Project, with a delay analysis table in Excel used alongside the impact analysis.
Impacted as-planned, collapsed as-built and as-planned v as-built are also covered in detail.
Outcome
The course addresses the critical issues in forensic delay analysis: converting a static as-built programme into a dynamic one, creating fragnets, analysing concurrent delay, managing constraints and correcting logic errors.
Students gain the knowledge, expertise and practical tools to analyse construction programmes and prove extension of time claims.
Delay analysis in context
Delay analysis is a recognised discipline with its own published guidance. The Society of Construction Law Delay and Disruption Protocol (2nd edition, 2017) and AACE International Recommended Practice 29R-03 describe the principal methods.
These range from impacted as-planned and time impact analysis to as-planned v as-built, windows and collapsed as-built analysis. The choice of method depends on the records and programmes available and on when the analysis is carried out.
